The instantly-recognisable Compressor Building overlooking the Floating Harbour will be turned into a new hotspot for Bristol’s social scene, alongside The Fermentation Buildings and Well Head building.
It is part of the rich brewing history at Finzels Reach, which has been home to several famous Bristol breweries over the years, most recently Courage brewery.
The ground floor of Compressor Building will be returned to its former use as a fully operational and cutting-edge brewery, where Left Handed Giant will ferment its selection of modern, progressive beers on site. Alongside, there will be a brewpub, where visitors can relax and enjoy the freshly brewed beers in a modern, urban-style bar.
Built as mezzanine levels, the first and second floors of Compressor Building will feel connected to the rest of the space with open views from each floor to the brewery and brewpub below. Peter Sanchez-Iglesias of Michelin-starred restaurant Casamia will take over the first floor with a new restaurant, whilst the second mezzanine floor will feature an events space with a capacity of 65 people, available for small weddings, events, and meetings.
