Spicer+Cole - Eat. Drink. Meet. Think.

One of Bristol’s most successful independent cafe chains is expanding and has opened a new site at Finzels Reach in the city centre.

Owned by Carla and Chris Swift, Spicer+Cole has gained a loyal following for its coffee, as well as range of food including tarts, salads, cakes and pastries.

As Bristol’s city centre goes from strength to strength, they are really looking forward to feeding the crowd at Finzels Reach with our signature range of fresh sandwiches, salads, brunch and cake, with coffee supplied by local roaster Extract.

Quality and good service mean a lot to Spicer+Cole and they hope that it shows. Whether you want a casual brunch, catered business meeting, healthy, delicious lunch or a ‘pick me up’ gooey chocolate brownie with a flat white, they will have it covered at the new Finzels Reach site.

Good coffee and food makes us very happy

Downright delicious and ethically sourced is how, we believe, coffee should be.

Our house espresso is a stunning South American blend, carefully crafted by Extract Coffee down the road in St. Werbergs, on their lovingly restored 1955 vintage Probart roaster, Betty. A sweet, big-bodied combination of Columbian, Peruvian and El Salvadorian beans, that produces the ultimate crowd pleasing espresso. Great with milk, great without.

Alongside this, we offer guest single origins from roasters close-by and further afield. Recently, we’ve had some stunning coffees in the hopper, from the Barn in Berlin, Workshop in London, and more locally, Crankhouse Coffee and Little & Long. Check our twitter feed to see what’s in the hopper at the moment. In warmer months we also serve our house cold brew.

Our loose-leaf tea comes from Waterloo Tea in Cardiff.  Like us, they’re obsessed with quality and have tracked down the finest teas from around the world. They work closely with us to ensure we brew them to perfection – ensuring bliss in every sip.

Good food makes us very happy. What makes us even happier, is cooking food that our customers love eating.

Practically everything we sell is made by us, here in our cafés. We use as much locally sourced, seasonal fruit and veg and free range, organic meat and dairy as we can. And we only work with suppliers who share our values, including: Ruby & White Butchers, Bruton Dairy, Bertinet Bakery and Severn Project.

Pop into any of our cafés, and the first thing you’ll notice is the food counter. Piled high with tarts, frittatas, salads, cakes and pastries, it’s inspired by continental market stalls overflowing with produce.

Start your day with something from our breakfast menu – home made granola maybe or avocado on toast. Or come for a long, lazy weekend brunch or lunch. Of course any time of day is a good time for coffee and cake…

If you’re dairy or gluten free, just let us know.
