Last night, Tuesday 3rd November the essential concrete works unfortunately overran for 30 minutes which meant the site was shut down at 7:00 pm. The pouring of concrete once started is difficult to stop and if pours have to be stopped mid-way then this work becomes abortive. To rectify, the concrete already poured would need to be removed which would involve breaking it which would cause unnecessary noise, dust and increase vibration ahead of a new pour starting. It is a call we need to make to balance between working past agreed time and causing further later disruption.
We apologise for any inconvenience suffered as a result of this overrun and when we have further clarity on the cause of the overrun we will post this on Twitter and update the website.
